NEW PRESIDENT FORMALLY TAKES OVER AT NNSS THIS WEEK

By ExchangeMonitor

Raymond Juzaitis will formally take over as the President of Nevada National Security Site contractor National Security Technologies LLC Jan. 5, taking the reins from Stephen Younger. Younger announced his retirement in August, and Juzaitis was named the head of the test site in November. Juzaitis most recently served as the head of nuclear engineering at Texas A&M, but is no stranger to the NNSA. He previously spent time at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory as its associate director of nonproliferation, homeland and international security and at Los Alamos National Laboratory as its associate director for weapons physics, and he was nearly named Livermore’s director in 2002. His selection was derailed because University of California officials failed to inform then-Energy Secretary Spencer Abraham that Juzaitis—then an official at Los Alamos—had led the lab’s X Division where accused Chinese spy Wen Ho Lee worked, though Juzaitis was never accused of any wrongdoing.
