NEW LEGACY MANAGEMENT CONTRACT TOTALS ABOUT $250 MILLION

The Department of Energy has confirmed the award of a new contract to a team led by Portage of a contract to provide support services for the Office of Legacy Management, posting a notice stating that it will total about $249.5 million dollars over the course of five years running from April 2013 to April 2018. The award, first reported by WC Monitor on Friday, comes after a nearly 16-month procurement. The contract includes a 24-month base period and one 36-month option period. Work to be performed under includes long-term surveillance and maintenance; information technology and records management; asset management; business; and program-wide support services. The Department declined to comment yesterday on the award beyond saying that appropriate extensions have been made for task orders to the incumbent Stoller, whose contract had been set to expire this week.
