NEW DOE OAK RIDGE PRO FORCE CONTRACTOR TAKES OVER

By ExchangeMonitor

National Strategic Protective Services LLC officially took over as the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge protective force contractor yesterday, and company officials say they’ve hired 100 percent of the incumbent workforce. NSPS, a joint venture between Triple Canopy and Securiguard, ousted WSI Oak Ridge earlier this year as the protective force contractor for Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the East Tennessee Technology Park, the Joe L. Evins Federal Building, and part of the Oak Ridge Reservation. “The NSPS team is honored to provide protective force services to the DOE Oak Ridge Office. The fact that 100 percent of the incumbent protective force has joined NSPS is very satisfying and helped facilitate a seamless transition,” NSPS General Manager Greg McDowell said in a statement. “We look forward to leveraging our leadership team’s industry knowledge and decades of management experience to ensure the highest quality protective force services at the Oak Ridge facilities.” NSPS President Ignacio Balderas said the company’s Oak Ridge operations would be managed from an office in Oak Ridge, adding, “We look forward to playing an active role within the community.”

Five other officials are joining McDowell on the NSPS management team: Planning and Operations Director John Garrity, Environmental Safety and Health Director John Held, Business Operations Director Kyle Anne Lang, Protective Force Director Steven Ross, and Contractor Assurance Director Steven Ross.
