Federal staffer Allison Finelli has been officially appointed as deputy chief of staff at the Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management since acting in that capacity since March.
The promotion was announced in a Tuesday email to staff at the nuclear cleanup branch by William (Ike) White, the senior advisor for the Environmental Management (EM) office.
Finelli’s prior roles at EM have included a stint as chief of staff for the Office of River Protection at the Hanford Site in Washington state, and executive officer for the EM front office, as well as jobs in field operations and communications.
A graduate of the College of William and Mary in Virginia, Finelli joined DOE in June 2015 as a public participation specialist, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Before arriving at DOE, Finelli was deputy executive director of the Energy Communities Alliance, an interest group that represents localities bordering federal nuclear facilities. “With a unique appreciation for the level of close collaboration with the field necessary to ensure cleanup success, Allison is well positioned to support EM as we advance our mission,” White said in the email.
The chief of staff at EM is Thomas Mooney, who in August added the title of chief operating officer.
While it likely will be out of date in a week with the arrival of the Joe Biden administration, here is a link to EM’s organizational chart as of Jan. 4.
