A trio of small businesses based in Oak Ridge Tenn., have teamed up to form Nuclear Services Partners LLC, to pursue nuclear contracts in Tennessee and nationally, the companies announced last week.
Nuclear Services Partners is a joint venture of Navarro Research and Engineering, MS Technology and Strata-G. Together the three small businesses have a combined workforce of over 1,000 employees, according to the press release.
Nuclear Services Partners can work with the current nuclear power fleet, planned new reactors and emerging reactor technology systems, according to the press release. The president of the new entity is Lloyd Brown, who according to his LinkedIn profile, has held senior posts at Longenecker & Associates and Battelle Energy Alliance.
Founded in 1993 by Susana Navarro, Navarro Research has contracts with the Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management, which includes running the 222-S lab at the Hanford Site in Washington state, the National Nuclear Security Administration and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
According to the MS Technology website, it was founded in 1994 and is involved in X-energy’s fuel fabrication project for small modular reactors. Its CEO is Randy Inklebarger, who previously held management posts for CH2M, which is now part of Jacobs.
Strata-G’s work includes providing science and technology support to Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Its chief executive is John Patterson, whose experience includes stints in industry as well as the DOE Environmental Management office.
