MOX ACTING FEDERAL PROJECT DIRECTOR TO LEAVE PROJECT

By ExchangeMonitor
Kevin Hall, the acting federal project director for the Mixed Oxide Fuel Fabrication Facility, is leaving the project in April for a post at the Oak Ridge site, NW&M Monitor has learned. Hall, who has served as deputy federal project director for the National Nuclear Security Administration’s MOX project, has led the project since FPD Clay Ramsey retired in late August. The NNSA said in January that since Ramsey’s departure it has been “actively interviewing” for the FPD position. When reached yesterday, both Hall and NNSA declined to comment or discuss who will lead the project after Hall’s departure. The news comes as the project faces a new baseline that is expected to add significantly to cost and schedule delays, which has also led to increased scrutiny from Congress on MOX.
