LOS ALAMOS AWARDS NEW SUBCONTRACTS

By ExchangeMonitor

Three companies have won new subcontracts to perform waste transportation and disposal work at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, the lab announced yesterday. ARS Cavanagh Environmental Services, LLC; Navarro Research and Engineering; and Portage won the new Master Task Order Agreements, which have a total ceiling value of up to $250 million. Under the agreements, Los Alamos will either assign work to the three prequalified bidders or will ask them to bid on individual tasks. “These companies have the demonstrated safety records and expertise to meet stringent federal requirements for treating and disposing of the waste,” Andy Baumer, Los Alamos program manager for the Environmental Programs Waste Projects and Services organization, said in a release. “They will be valuable partners in the lab’s ability to dispose of waste safely and efficiently.”

The new MTOAs are the second won by Portage and Navarro at Los Alamos this year. Last month, the two companies were part of a group of four winners of MTOAs for waste disposition-related work at the lab. Los Alamos said it expects to award two other MTOAs for other cleanup-related activities later this year.
