LOOKING AHEAD

By ExchangeMonitor
Here’s a look at some of the events we’ll be following this week:
  • The Energy Facilities Contractors Group is holding its semi-annual meeting Tuesday and Wednesday at the Department of Energy’s Forrestal Bulding. Speakers include Rep. Mike Simpson (R-Idaho), National Nuclear Security Administration Associate Principal Deputy Administrator Michael Lempke, Office of Environmental Management Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary Tracy Mustin, and Office of Acquisition and Project Management Director Paul Bosco.
  • The Senate is expected to resume debate on its version of the Fiscal Year 2014 Defense Authorization Act today and is likely to finish its work on the bill this week, triggering a House-Senate conference on the bill.
  • On Thursday the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee will hold a hearing to consider two Department of Energy nominations, Franklin Orr to Under Secretary for Science and Jonathan Elkind to Assistant Secretary of Energy for International Affairs. The committee will also vote on Steven Croley’s nomination to DOE General Counsel.
