Look Ahead

  • The House Armed Services Strategic Forces Subcommittee will on Wednesday host a hearing on “Plutonium Disposition and the MOX Project,” where members will testimony from National Nuclear Security Administrator Frank Klotz, John MacWilliams, senior advisor to the Energy Secretary, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory Director Thom Mason.
  • The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee will hold a Nuclear Regulatory Commission oversight hearing Wednesday. All four NRC commissioners will be in attendance. The hearing is scheduled to occur at 10 a.m. in Room 406 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building.
  • The Nuclear Decommissioning & Used Fuel Strategy Summit kicks off this morning in Charlotte. Highlights include a presentation from Southern California Edison’s San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station decommissioning team as well as updates from other commercial decommissioning sites. The conference runs through Tuesday at the Ritz Carlton in Charlotte.
