Longenecker Hires Ex-DOE Official at Los Alamos

By ExchangeMonitor

George Rael, a longtime Energy Department and National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) official, has joined Longenecker & Associates as a project manager at the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in New Mexico effective this week.

Longenecker is a subcontractor to Triad National Security, which on Nov. 1 took over as the NNSA’s management and operations contractor at the nuclear-weapon laboratory. Triad is a venture comprised of Battelle, Texas A&M University, and the University of California.

Rael, who retired from the Energy Department in 2014, held several senior posts at the NNSA’s Los Alamos Field Office, most recently assistant manager for national security missions. Prior to that, he was assistant manager for NNSA’s environmental projects’ office at LANL.

Las Vegas-based Longenecker & Associates will provide Triad with management support for capital projects, quality assurance, and other operations.
