KLOTZ MEETS TOP REPUBLICAN ON SENATE ARMED SERVICES COMMITTEE

By ExchangeMonitor

With the confirmation hearing for his nomination as National Nuclear Security Administration chief looming, Frank Klotz has been making the rounds on Capitol Hill lately, and yesterday the retired Air Force general met with Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.), the ranking member on the Senate Armed Services Committee. Klotz will appear before the committee next Thursday along with several other Pentagon nominees, and while the former Global Strike Command chief is not expected to have difficulty being confirmed, his confirmation hearing could give Republicans a chance to air concerns about the pace of nuclear modernization and other nuclear concerns. In recent weeks, Klotz also met with the majority staff of the Senate Armed Services Committee. NNSA spokesman Josh McConaha declined to comment whether Klotz had additional meetings scheduled.
