James Dawkins is Savannah River site prime’s vice president for NNSA programs

By ExchangeMonitor

The National Nuclear Security Administration and Savannah River Nuclear Solutions appointed James Dawkins as chief operations officer and executive vice president, according to Dawkins’ LinkedIn profile Saturday.

In Dawkins’ new dual role, he will oversee the management and operations of National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) related programs at Savannah River Site in Aiken, S.C., according to Dawkins’ LinkedIn profile.

“I’ve been extremely impressed with the professionalism, determination, resiliency and a commitment to mission displayed by the site employees,” Dawkins said in a LinkedIn post about his first day on the job.

Before he joined Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, the contractor consisting of Fluor, Newport News Nuclear, and Honeywell in charge of management at Savannah River Site, Dawkins was the vice president of nuclear operations for the nuclear and environmental group at Huntington Ingalls Industries from May 2023 until September 2024, his LinkedIn says. He had leadership over NNSA laboratories, production plants, test sites and cleanup sites.
