Jacobs awarded follow-on subcontract for U.K. nuclear plant work

By ExchangeMonitor

Jacobs, Dallas, got a two-year, $53-million contract from EDF Nuclear Operations to support activities ranging from defueling to life extension at several nuclear power plants in the United Kingdom, the company said this week in a press release.

The Project Management Resources framework contract is a successor to an existing deal Jacobs has with EDF Nuclear Operations, part of the U.K.-domiciled arm of France’s state-owned EDF. The new pact begins Jan. 1, Jacobs said in the release.

Work under the existing contract includes operations of four reactors, defueling of another three and the life extension of the U.K.’s newest reactor, Sizewell B in Suffolk County on England’s east coast.
