INTERA intends to file a protest with the Government Accountability Office next week over Navarro Research and Engineering’s win of the new contract to perform environmental program services at the Nevada National Security Site. INTERA President and CEO Marsh Lavenue confirmed the company’s protest plans, but declined to provide any further comment late this week. INTERA also has filed a size standard challenge over Navarro’s win with the Small Business Administration, with the SBA expected to make a decision on that challenge by the end of this month.
INTERA and Navarro were among the five bidders on the new NNSS environmental program services contract, which has been valued at $59 million for performance over a one-year base period with four one-year option periods. INTERA had been teamed with Navarro on the previous NNSS environmental program services contract, but chose to lead its own bid for the recompete. In late September, the National Nuclear Security Administration announced that the Navarro-led team, which also includes Leidos and HydroGeoLogic , was the winner of the new NNSS environmental contract. Performance of the new contract has been suspended, though, as a result of INTERA’s size standard challenge.
