Innovative Tech Solutions to Climate Sought for COP22 Showcase

By ExchangeMonitor

The Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC), the French Institut National de la Propriété Industrielle (INPI), and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) have launched a call for applications for small- or medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) based in and/or focused on Africa, interested in presenting their innovative technological solutions to address climate change at the 22nd session of the Conference of the Parties (COP22) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Marrakesh.

COP22 is scheduled for Nov. 7-18 and the Cleantech Solutions Exhibition would take place from Nov. 10-12 alongside the meeting. “The goal is to facilitate the commercialization and thus the dissemination of clean technologies in Africa while supporting local innovators,” according to a UNFCCC release.

OMPIC, INPI, and WIPO will fund the participation of 44 SMEs. Applications are due by July 15.
