INL OFFICIAL TO HELP ADVISE NEW DOE SEC. ON CLEANUP ISSUES

The Department of Energy is bringing on Idaho National Laboratory official Betsy Connell to serve as a senior policy advisor to Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz for cleanup-related issues, with an initial focus on tank waste, Weapons Complex Morning Briefing has learned. Connell currently holds the position of senior policy advisor at Battelle Energy Alliance, the managing contractor at INL. Connell has also previously served as a senior policy advisor at DOE from 1998-2006. DOE did not respond to requests for comment on Connell’s new role yesterday.
