The Department of Energy Cleanup to Clean Energy Program will hold its second industry day at a DOE nuclear site, this time at the Idaho National Laboratory on Oct. 25.
While the notice shared by DOE does not yet list an exact meeting time, the day-long session is scheduled for the Idaho National Laboratory’s meeting center at the Energy Innovation Laboratory, 775 MK Simpson Blvd, Idaho Falls, ID 83401.
According to the notice, interested “industry leaders in nuclear, wind, geothermal and solar energy generation, can apply to attend the October Cleanup to Clean Energy Information Day event by emailing [email protected].”
Outside of the recently-announced DOE clean power program for nuclear cleanup sites, Idaho National Laboratory is already the site for a planned small modular reactor designed by NuScale Power and sponsored by Utah Associated Municipal Power Systems group. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has accepted for review a limited work authorization for the project.
The first such clean energy session last month at the DOE’s Hanford Site near Richland, Wash., attracted many developers of carbon-free electricity and related businesses.
