IDAHO CLEANUP CONTRACTORS TO SUBMIT SHUTDOWN PLANS TODAY

By ExchangeMonitor

The two cleanup contractors at the Department of Energy’s Idaho site—CH2M-WG Idaho, LLC, and Idaho Treatment Group, LLC—are set to submit to DOE today plans for largely suspending operations if the federal government continues to remain shut down. CWI, which manages the Idaho Cleanup Project, did not respond to calls for comment yesterday. ITG spokesman Rick Dale said yesterday, though, that the Advanced Mixed Waste Treatment Project managing contractor is preparing a “partial stop work plan” that would allow the AMWTP to be placed in a “safe and secure operational level requiring minimal staffing.” The plans likely would go into effect later this week if the shutdown is not resolved.
