HUNTINGTON INGALLS INDUSTRIES ACQUIRES STOLLER

Huntington Ingalls Industries late last week completed the acquisition of S.M. Stoller. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, but according to a company release, Stoller will be a wholly owned subsidiary of HII and operate under its Newport News Shipbuilding division. “With this strategic acquisition, Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) is positioned for expanded growth within the DOE, environmental management and commercial nuclear services markets," HII Corporate Vice President and NNS President Matt Mulherin said in the release. “Stoller’s exceptional commitment to performance and safety are well recognized by the environmental management and remediation industry and are attributes that directly support our plan for continued growth within these markets. This is an important investment in the future of our company, and we are excited to welcome Stoller to our team.”

In a letter to employees, Stoller President Nick Lombardo said the company will continue to operate with “much of its existing operating infrastructure so that we can continue to provide outstanding value to our clients.” Lombardo said, “We have previously worked with HII’s Newport News Nuclear subsidiary on several DOE proposal efforts. HII brings incredible corporate reachback in nuclear operations, engineering, large project integration, modeling, training, and manufacturing,“ adding, “We are very excited about the new possibilities that this creates for Stoller and its employees as we expand our DOE and DoD business.”
