Republican lawmakers on the House Energy and Commerce Committee are questioning Nuclear Regulatory Commission Chairman Gregory Jaczko on revisions made last year to Internal Commission Procedures. “Understanding the development of the Internal Commission Procedures revisions will provide necessary insight into the current governance struggles of the Commission,” according to a Committee release. While the four other NRC commissioners have raised concerns about Jaczko’s management of the agency, Jaczko has maintained that the conflict was largely a result of different interpretations of the role of the chairman. The letter, sent Monday, states that the revised internal procedures were implemented in September 2011, and asks for the complete voting records of all the commissioners on changes to the procedures. It also asks whether Jaczko has made any revisions to the procedures himself, and requests a list of each case in which the procedures have not been followed since July 2011. The letter is available here.
