01: Markup: House Armed Services Committee (full). National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2022. 10 a.m. Eastern time. Venue TBA, streaming online via WebEx.

02: The Department of Energy and Nuclear Waste Partnership holds a public hearing with the New Mexico Environment Department at 5 p.m. Mountain Time in Carlsbad, N.M., on a request to build two new disposal panels at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant. The meeting can be attended online.

All Week: Special session, Texas Legislature. Among the bills considered, a proposal to limit transportation and storage of radioactive waste in the state. Streaming online

NEW: Via public records request, I’ve been able to confirm reporting today that a warrant has been issued for DOE deputy asst. secretary of spent fuel and waste disposition Sam Brinton for another luggage theft, this time at Las Vegas’s Harry Reid airport. (cc: @EMPublications)
