Leidos-led Hanford Mission Integration Solutions, the Department of Energy prime that acts as city manager of the Hanford Site in Washington state, is shopping for a subcontractor to overhaul aging power distribution lines and related infrastructure.
The work, in the 100 Area near the Columbia River, involves tearing down or refurbishing old infrastructure and installing new 13.8 kilovolt electrical utility lines, poles and transformers, according to a Nov. 21 procurement notice.
The Hanford Site landlord seeks an “experienced subcontractor to provide material, labor, and supervision” for the work that will include installation of new fiber optic lines, according to the statement of work, linked to the online notice. The winning subcontractor must coordinate with Hanford Mission Integration Solutions any utility work-related outages in advance. The subcontractor is also responsible for traffic control plans around the work zones.
The successful subcontractor does not require a security clearance and its typical work week will be four 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday, according to the material. All field work should be completed by May 22, 2025.
Interested providers can take part in a pre-proposal site visit and “job walk” at 4 p.m. Pacific Time on Dec. 12, according to the notice on the online System for Awards Management. That will be followed by a “mandatory” walk-around at 10 a.m. local time on Dec. 20.
Questions are due by 4 p.m. P.T. on Jan. 4, 2024, and actual proposals are due by 3 p.m. P.T. on Jan. 25, according to the notice.
