Hanford Union Workers Approve Wage Increase

Wages for workers represented by the Hanford Atomic Metal Trades Council (HAMTC) at several Hanford Site contractors would increase 2 percent in 2016, 2017, and 2018 under agreements approved in worker votes Thursday. HAMTC, an umbrella group for 14 affiliated unions, reported that agreements passed for Washington River Protection Solutions, Mission Support Alliance, CH2M Hill Plateau Remediation Co., and Advanced Technologies and Laboratories. However, the Department of Energy contract with Advanced Technologies and Laboratories expires in November. HAMTC did not release the vote totals. Negotiations for the agreements were restricted to limited items. The agreements will maintain the same schedule of medical, dental, and vision benefits through 2019 for most contractors. A memorandum of understanding for potential Affordable Care Act “Cadillac taxes,” should premiums reach that level, was included in the agreement.
