    USDOE Transuranic Waste Task Force/Technical Advisory Board

    This session focuses on two newly-established US DOE teams – a TRU Waste Stream Task Force and an associated Technical Advisory Board. The multi-disciplined teams are comprised of both federal and contractor individuals from Carlsbad, Idaho, and National Labs. The teams’ primary objectives are to evaluate waste and recommend a path forward to certify difficult waste across the DOE complex. This has broad application across the DOE EM complex. These teams will initially target Idaho’s 39,000 drums of the most challenging waste. Team members will be exchanged as the other sites’ waste is addressed.  Hear how this new approach will streamline activities, and save both time and money.
