Funk to Join Los Alamos Cleanup Program

By ExchangeMonitor
Los Alamos National Security, LLC, has moved David Funk to be the new acting deputy associate director in the Associate Directorate of Environmental Programs, the Lab announced. Funk has been with the lab since 1991, and has most recently worked for the Weapons Experiments Division at Los Alamos. “At ADEP, he will assist with TRU recovery efforts after serving as one of the leaders of a team of scientists investigating what caused a Los Alamos drum to breach underground at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant,” according to a LANS release. ADEP Acting Associate Director Randy Erickson said in a statement: “Dave’s strong line management experience and his technical expertise in energetic materials make him highly qualified to help us implement needed improvements and resume our essential mission activities.”
