Dade Moeller, a subcontractor at the Department of Energy’s Hanford Site in Washington state, has formed a joint venture with RC Engineering and Construction Management (RCECM), a small woman-owned business.
The joint venture between the two Richland, Wash., companies is called ARC Professional Services. It will operate under an All Small Mentor-Protege Program agreement approved by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
“All Small” program benefits include qualifying joint ventures for set-aside contracts for which only the small business in the joint venture would otherwise be eligible. Both Dade Moeller and RCECM will be able to jointly pursue contracts through ARC that would not be possible individually, according to RCECM.
NV5-owned Dade Moeller expects to gain a foothold with new clients by participating through ARC in contracts reserved for small and small, woman-owned businesses. Its mentorship will foster RCECM’s growth and expand the small business’s technical resume. The two companies intend to pursue business opportunities at Hanford.
Dade Moeller has provided professional radiation protection, occupational safety, industrial hygiene, and training support at Hanford for more than two decades. When it was acquired in 2016 by Hollywood, Fla.-based engineering and consulting firm NV5, Dade Moeller’s Richland office expanded its capabilities to include fire protection engineering, infrastructure planning, construction quality assurance, energy optimization and facility commissioning.
RC Engineering and Construction Management, founded in 2007, specializes in project and construction management, cost engineering, design and engineering, construction inspection, and integrated staff partnering. It supports several prime contractors at the Hanford Site, as well as local commercial clients and federal agencies.
