The Department of Energy’s nuclear cleanup branch could issue a trio of final solicitations for new contracts during the first six months of 2024, according to a notice issued Monday.
In a notice posted online Monday, DOE’s Office of Environmental Management said final request for proposals (RFP) for Phase 1B of cleanup of the West Valley Demonstration Project in Western New York state, potentially worth $3 billion, will not be out before January, and that solicitations for two technical support services contracts should follow.
The office had previously said the West Valley deal would not be out before the new year.
Meanwhile, a final RFP for a new Portsmouth Paducah Project Office Technical Support Services set-aside procurement could be out as early as March. The Environmental Management procurement office issued the draft RFP last week. A Pro2Serve company is the incumbent under a deal valued at $179 million and scheduled to run through March 2025.
Finally, the office could issue a final RFP for Consolidated Technical Support Services as early as June. A request for information was published in September 2022 on a successor small business contract to replace the one held by BTP Services, a joint venture of Boston Government Services and Trinity Engineering Associates. The current contract is potentially worth more than $84 million.
The timeline features ‘not before” dates, so the actual procurements can always move further into the future, according to DOE.
