ENERGYSOLUTIONS MOVING KURION LAWSUIT TO NEW COURT

By ExchangeMonitor

EnergySolutions filed a motion to dismiss its lawsuit challenging Kurion’s use of one of its waste treatment technologies in a New York court earlier this week so it could file the suit in another court, EnergySolutions spokesman Mark Walker said. “This dismissal is just a step in transferring the case to a different court. The lawsuit will proceed in a different court,” he said. EnergySolutions did not say what court it planned to file the lawsuit in next. Originally, EnergySolutions filed a suit in Utah, but the court dismissed that case over a jurisdictional issue. The company’s new lawsuit, filed in late September, is similar to its initial suit against Kurion, which centered on Kurion’s use of a treatment process that removes radioactive isotopes from liquid using isotope specific media followed by vitrification of the separated isotopes with the media.
