EnergySolutions is stalking horse bidder for bankrupt construction outfit

By ExchangeMonitor

EnergySolutions, Salt Lake City, will acquire bankrupt construction company Williams Industrial Services Group, Atlanta, for about $60 million, the Utah-based company said Monday in a press release.

Williams has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. The company specializes in construction of heavy industrial infrastructure. EnergySolutions hopes to close the sale by Sept. 30. Other bidders could swoop in before then. If none do, the bankruptcy court will have to approve the terms of the sale.

EnergySolutions operates a low-level waste disposal site in Clive, Utah, and is decommissioning the Unit 2 reactor at Three Mile Island in Pennsylvania, which partially melted down in the 1970s.
