EnergySolutions closes acquisition of bankrupt Atlanta construction group

By ExchangeMonitor

EnergySolutions, Salt Lake City, completed its acquisition of Williams Industrial Services Group, the company announced Monday in a press release.

EnergySolutions operates a low-level waste facility in Clive, Utah, and is decommissioning the partially melted-down Three Mile Island Unit 2 reactor in Pennsylvania. The company said in July it was buying Williams out of chapter 11 bankruptcy for $60 million.

The former Williams assets will become EnergySolutions’ new Nuclear Services division.

The acquisition “will enhance EnergySolutions ability to provide comprehensive solutions across the nuclear lifecycle, from construction, maintenance, plant extension, and waste management to decommissioning and environmental remediation,” Ken Robuck, president and CEO of EnergySolutions, said in Monday’s press release.
