EnergySolutions announced this week that it had acquired MHF Services, an integrated packaging, transportation and logistics provider of radioactive, hazardous and non-hazardous materials. MHF Services will operate as its own subsidiary under the EnergySolutions banner, the company said. Terms of the deal were not provided. “We are pleased that MHF is joining the EnergySolutions team,” EnergySolutions President and CEO David Lockwood said in a statement. “MHF is a seasoned organization with strong capabilities that complement the services we provide our customer. Acquiring MHF strengthens our ability to provide our customers a complete range of logistics and disposal services more cost effectively.”

Throughout its 20 year history, MHF has moved over 20 million tons of hazardous, radioactive and non-hazardous material, the company said in a release. MHF is located in Pittsburgh, and the company includes a large independent fleet of specialized rail equipment, four trans-load facilities, and a manufacturing facility for fabricating both hard and soft sided waste containers. “I want to personally thank every MHF employee for their commitment to safety and incredible work which has made MHF what it is today,” MHF CEO Bob Shawver said in a statement. “The combination of MHF and EnergySolutions will provide a strong platform for the continued growth of our business.”
