EnergySolutions acquires Cabrera Services

By ExchangeMonitor

EnergySolutions, Salt Lake City, said Sunday it acquired Cabrera Services, East Hartford, Conn., a radioactive cleanup company that has contracts with the Department of Energy and the Army Corps of Engineers.

EnergySolutions announced the news in a press release shared Sunday with the Exchange Monitor. The release did not specify the financial terms of the acquisition.

An EnergySolutions spokesperson did not immediately reply to a request for comment concerning the terms and whether Cabrera Solutions management would remain with the company after the acquisition.

Cabrera will be folded into EnergySolutions federal program, according to the release.

Cabrera “has been a prominent contractor in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program markets,” EnergySolutions wrote in its press release. The program, called FUSRAP for short, cleans up sites across the country contaminated with material generated during the Manhattan Project.
