By ExchangeMonitor

The Energy Communities Alliance, which represents local communities near Department of Energy sites, has elected a new board of directors. Oak Ridge, Tenn. Mayor Tom Beehan was elected as ECA Chairman. Other Board members include Vice-Chairman Councilman Chuck Smith, Aiken County, S.C.; Secretary Commissioner Roxanne Lara, Eddy County, N.M.; and Treasurer Councilor Fran Berting, Los Alamos County, N.M. “The City of Oak Ridge was one of the founding members of ECA almost twenty years ago,” Beehan said in a release issued yesterday. “The organization has earned widespread recognition as the voice for local officials at DOE locations around the nation. As we deal with significant challenges facing our communities, I am honored to help represent the views of our members as the 2012 Chairman.”
