DRAFT ETEC RTP SET TO COME OUT THIS WEEK

By ExchangeMonitor

The Department of Energy anticipates releasing this week a draft Request for Task Proposals for the new environmental monitoring and facility D&D contract at the Energy Technology Engineering Center (ETEC) site, according to a notice issued yesterday. The procurement is set to be conducted under DOE’s set of national small business set-aside Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity cleanup contracts. As part of the procurement, DOE plans to conduct a pre-solicitation conference, site tour and industry one-on-one sessions, which are “tentatively” scheduled for Sept. 17-19, the notice says. Those contractors interested in participating in the one-on-one sessions have until Sept. 9 to submit a request to [email protected].

Environmental monitoring work at the California site is currently performed by Boeing, which owns the broader Santa Susana Field Laboratory where ETEC is located, under a contract set to expire by Sept. 30, 2014. DOE has said the new contract is currently anticipated to run for up to five years, with firm fixed-price contract line items set to begin in October 2014. Work to be performed under the new contract would include environmental monitoring, as well as D&D activities for the remaining facilities at the site, some of which have been classified as radiological, should a decision be made to do so and funding available.
