DOE UPDATES Q&A FOR LLW/MLLW DISPOSAL RFP

The Department of Energy yesterday released a new set of questions and answers on its recently issued Request for Proposals for low-level waste/mixed low-level waste disposal, clarifying how companies should address pricing information. One firm asked if DOE would be open to tiered pricing. DOE said no, though it noted: “offeror may include volume discount unit price by footnote (e.g., debris at soil disposal rate if the ratio of the volume of soil to debris is high).” DOE also said the standard size for the procurement would be $12.5 million, and clarified that the RFP is not a commercial items contract.
