DOE To Issue Draft RFP For New Idaho Contract in 15-45 Days

By ExchangeMonitor
The Department of Energy is looking to issue a draft Request for Proposals for the new Idaho Cleanup Project Core (ICP Core) contract within the next 15-45 days, according to a notice issued yesterday. The new contract is intended to largely replace the two current cleanup contracts at DOE’s Idaho site that are set to expire at the end of FY 2015—CH2M-WG Idaho’s contract to perform most cleanup work at the site and Idaho Treatment Group’s contract to operate the Advanced Mixed Waste Treatment Project. Along with the release of the draft RFP, DOE is looking to hold a pre-solicitation conference, site tour and industry one-on-one sessions the week of Oct. 6, according to the notice.

Services to be provided under the new ICP Core contract are set to include: Facility Infrastructure, limited to INTEC and RWMC facilities; Environmental Activities; Waste Management; and Spent Nuclear Fuel (SNF). “Note that the Draft RFP also includes options to acquire additional scope elements as separately priced line items under this Contract,” the notice says, adding, “When deciding whether to exercise the option(s), DOE may consider the quality of the Contractor’s performance under this Contract, if sufficient funding is available, and whether the exercise of the option is the most advantageous method of fulfilling the Government’s need, price and other factors considered.”
