DOE STILL COMMITTED TO BROOKHAVEN PROCUREMENT SCHEDULE

The Department of Energy still is planning on releasing a Request for Proposals for its Brookhaven National Laboratory procurement in the first three months of 2014 despite delays brought about by the government shutdown earlier this month, according to Questions and Answers released by the Department yesterday. The Q&As contained few surprises, but the Department emphasized that the RFP was still on track for the January to March timeframe, matching the procurement schedule released earlier this year. DOE had to postpone an Oct. 17 informational meeting until January, but that delay apparently is not connected to the RFP schedule. DOE also emphasized that it would not release a draft RFP for the procurement, but did not explain its reasoning.
