DOE Starts Seeking Sources for Next Paducah Cleanup Contract

By Staff Reports

The Department of Energy announced Thursday on a federal procurement website that it is beginning market research for the next cleanup contract at the Paducah Site in Kentucky.

The DOE Office of Environmental Management rolled out a request for information (RFI) seeking potential sources for a new deactivation and remediation agreement for the former gaseous diffusion plant in Paducah, Ky.

The current business is a five-year, $1.4-billion contract held by Four Rivers Nuclear Partnership, a team with Jacobs Engineering, BWX Technologies, and Fluor Corp., and is scheduled to expire in June 2022.

Comments on the RFI are due by 5 p.m. Eastern Time on March 24. Statements and questions should be emailed to [email protected].

Travis Taggart is the DOE contracting officer for the solicitation and can be reached at [email protected].

The RFI includes DOE’s typical boilerplate disclaimer that this is not a request for proposals. The agency does invite potential bidders to submit capability statements outlining their experience, expertise and teaming arrangements.
