DOE SEEKS SMALL BUSINESS TO MONITOR PADUCAH AFTER PLANT’S RETURN

By ExchangeMonitor

As the Department of Energy prepares for the likely return of the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant from operator USEC later this year, it issued a Feb. 15 solicitation Feseeking a small business to monitor the future the plant for its future viability. “During the fiscal year, the contractor [subject matter experts (SME)] will continue on-site monitoring of PGDP operations and individual system status,” the solicitation says. “This effort will emphasize evaluations of the highest priority systems necessary to meet Agreement requirements and systems important to DOE following cessation of enriching operations. The SME will look at operability and viability issues as they may affect continued operation of the PGDP through the fiscal year and other on-site missions beyond the current fiscal year.” Responses are due March 4.
