Jacobs-led Four Rivers Nuclear Partnership won 69% of its discretionary fee for cleanup work at the Department of Energy’s Paducah Site in Kentucky during fiscal 2022, an improvement from its performance in fiscal 2021.
Overall the contractor claimed 80% of its total potential award fee for 2022, according to an agency scorecard dated Dec. 28.
The Jacobs-Fluor-BWX Technologies team’s performance was good for $1.6 million out of a potential $2.3 million adjective fee, the DOE’s Portsmouth-Paducah Project Office decided. The company won $16.8 million, or 80%, of its potential $21 million fee for the 12-month period ended Sept. 30, 2022.
The report is an improvement upon Four Rivers performance rating for fiscal 2021, when the contractor was deemed “satisfactory” by DOE and took home only half of its discretionary fee.
An employee survey taken during fiscal 2022 showed 96% of workers believe their immediate boss demonstrates a strong commitment to safety and 97% believe management encourages and expects employees to promptly report incidents, according to the scorecard.
“This feedback was welcomed news compared to prior years,” DOE said.
At the same time, improvement is still needed on cost controls, DOE said in the scorecard. Four Rivers has been the Paducah cleanup contractor since June 2017. The business, currently valued at $1.6 billion, is scheduled to run through June 19, 2025.
