The Department of Energy provided yesterday what some may say are among the most important details of the planned follow-on cleanup contract for the Nevada National Security Site—its term and value. According to a revised sources sought notice, the new contract is set to have a ceiling value of $90-130 million over a potential five-year term. DOE has begun conducting market research to see if the NNSS cleanup contract can continue to bet set-aside for small businesses; such work is currently being performed by a team of Navarro Research and Engineering and INTERA, with the new contract set to begin in September 2014. Interested companies have until Oct. 1 to submit a statement of capabilities to the Department.
