Potential bidders on the new Paducah infrastructure services now have an additional two weeks to prepare proposals thanks to an amendment to the final Request for Proposals for the new contract issued late this week. The amendment pushes back the due date for bids to Dec. 5, from Nov.  20, but makes no other changes.

The new contract is being set-aside for small businesses, with a size standard of $38.5 million. According to DOE, the new contract is estimated to be worth between $100-180 million, and is set to run for a three-year base period and a 22-month option period. Work to be performed under the contract includes surveillance, maintenance and repair of facilities; Janitorial services; Grounds maintenance and pest control; Snow removal, roadway and parking lot maintenance; Computing, telecommunication and cyber security; Fleet management; Real and personal property management; Records management and document control; Safeguards and security; Environment, safety, health and quality (ESH&Q) program; and Training services.  Infrastructure services at the Paducah site are currently being performed by Swift and Staley under a contract set to expire in March 2015.
