Senior officials from the Department of Energy and Nuclear Regulatory Commission were scheduled to testify about nuclear power Thursday before a House Oversight and Accountability subcommittee.
Headlining the list of three witnesses is Kathryn Huff, DOE’s assistant secretary for nuclear energy. Huff was scheduled to testify at 2:00 p.m. Eastern time alongside Daniel Dorman, the outgoing executive director of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and David Ortiz, director of the office of electric reliability at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
At the hearing, lawmakers will “examine U.S. nuclear power generation and identify the benefits and challenges associated with further nuclear reactor buildout,” according to a press release from the House Committee of Oversight and Accountability economic growth, energy policy, and regulatory affairs subcommittee.
