DOE ISSUES FINAL RTP FOR NEW ETEC CONTRACT

The Department of Energy late last week issued a final Request for Task Proposals for the new Energy Technology Engineering Center environmental monitoring contract. Among the changes in the final RTP from previously issued drafts, according to DOE, is a consolidation of non-radiological facility D&D activities from three contract line items (CLINs) to one CLIN; “various updates” made to elements of the Performance Work Statement to “clarify specific details”; and updates within the planned evaluation criteria to “reflect updated evaluation criteria language.” DOE plans to hold a pre-proposal site tour on Jan. 14, and is accepting questions on the final RTP through Jan. 21. Bids for the new contract are currently due by Feb. 25. The final RTP can be found here.

The new ETEC contract is being competed under the Department’s set of small business Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity cleanup contracts. The new contract is anticipated to have Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) and Fixed Unit Rate Price Contract Line Items and is set to run for up to five years, consisting of a three-year base period and one two-year option period. Environmental monitoring work at ETEC is currently performed by Boeing, which owns the broader Santa Susana Field Laboratory where the site is located, under a contract set to expire by Sept. 30, 2014.
