DOE issues draft solicitation for tech services at Portsmouth and Paducah

By ExchangeMonitor

With publication of a draft solicitation Thursday, the Department of Energy’s nuclear cleanup branch is shopping for a new small business to provide technical support for its project office serving the Portsmouth Site in Ohio and the Paducah Site in Kentucky.

DOE’s Office of Environmental Management announced its draft request for proposals (RFP) for a new Portsmouth Paducah Project Office Technical Support Services set-aside procurement via a Dec. 14 online notice.

DOE is looking for support in areas such as cyber security, information technology and record keeping at the former gaseous diffusion plant sites in Piketon, Ohio and Paducah, Ky., as well as at the Portsmouth Paducah Project Office headquarters in Lexington, Ky.

A Pro2Serve company, Enterprise Technical Assistance Services, has the current contract, suc which is valued at $179 million and scheduled to expire in March 2025. The incumbent has been on the job since April 2020.

DOE indicated in November that the draft RFP could be out soon.

DOE plans to hold a virtual pre-solicitation briefing Jan. 9 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Eastern Time. A registration link to that session is available here. The registration deadline is 4 p.m. on Jan. 3.

Responses to the draft RFP are due by 5 p.m. Eastern on Jan. 16.
