DOE GEARING UP TO RECOMPETE OAK RIDGE TRU CENTER CONTRACT

The Department of Energy has begun moving forward with preparations to recompete the contract to manage the Oak Ridge Transuranic Waste Processing Center, issuing a sources sought notice yesterday to begin performing market research to gauge whether there are small businesses capable of performing the work. According to the notice, DOE is proposing using a small businesses size standard of $35.5 million for the new contract, which will cover operating the Oak Ridge facility and to continue with development of Critical Decision documents for planned sludge processing facility buildouts. The facility is currently managed by Wastren Advantage. Responses are due by July 24.
