DOE DELAYS RELEASE OF AMENDED OAK RIDGE PRO FORCE RFP

By ExchangeMonitor

The Department of Energy apparently still has some work to do before it releases an amended Request for Proposals for its scaled back Oak Ridge protective force contract. After indicating several times that it would release a new RFP on Friday, DOE delayed the release of the document without explanation. In a message posted to the procurement website Friday, the Department said it would release the amended RFP “in the near future.” In apparent acknowledgement of the delays, it added: “Offerors are reminded that this acquisition may experience further delays, be revised or cancelled at any time during the solicitation or final award process and is subject to the availability of funds.” After the July security breach at Y-12, DOE stripped Y-12 and Pantex protective force work from what was supposed to be a combined security contract. What remains is work to guard Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the East Tennessee Technology Park and the Office of Science Federal Building Complex.
