A two-time employee at CH2M is the new chief of staff for Energy Department Assistant Secretary for Environmental Management Anne Marie White.
Darcey Bolin took the job in March, according to her LinkedIn profile and a new organizational chart posted April 1 on the Office of Environmental Management website. She has been with the Energy Department since October 2018, starting as a senior adviser in the nuclear cleanup office.
Bolin worked at CH2M, a DOE contractor now owned by Jacobs, from January 2006 to December 2009 and again from March 2014 until joining DOE. Her experience at the company included a couple years as a program management director at DOE’s West Valley Demonstration Project in New York state, as well as project controls manager for natural gas pipeline and port modernization projects in Alaska.
Her experience includes working in DOE and Department of Defense markets, as well as oil and gas and commercial construction markets.
The chief of staff acts as a primary aide and adviser to the assistant secretary, helping her oversee the $7 billion office’s program at 16 Cold War and nuclear waste sites.
The chief of staff post has been open for a few months after longtime DOE hand Erik Olds served in the role on an acting basis for the last few months of 2018, a source noted Thursday. Olds returned to his position as the Richland Operations Office chief of staff in December 2018.
