DOE AWARDS THREE-YEAR EXTENSION TO MISSION SUPPORT ALLIANCE

The Department of Energy is extending Mission Support Alliance’s contract for three years to provide infrastructure and site services at Hanford. MSA, comprised of Lockheed Martin Integrated Technology, LLC, Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc., and WSI, is nearing the end of its initial five-year contract period, awarded in 2009. DOE has granted the first of two option periods, which extends the contract through May 2017 at a value of about $736 million. “We determined MSA remains the best value to the government on the basis of price, cost savings and quality,” DOE Richland Operations Office Manager Matt McCormick said in a statement. “MSA has done an outstanding job of providing site services, and extending the contract ensures continuity of services that are vital to cleanup.”
