DOE AWARDS TASK ORDER TO WCS FOR DISPOSAL OF LOS ALAMOS WASTE

The Department of Energy yesterday awarded a $1.29 million task order to Waste Control Specialists for disposal of mixed low-level waste from Los Alamos National Laboratory. “The work to be performed under this task order includes the receipt and disposal of 207 cubic yards of Class C Mixed Low-Level Waste,” said a DOE release, which notes that the waste is from cleanup and remediation at LANL. The firm fixed-price task order has a one-year period, and fell under the Office of Environmental Management’s Low-Level and Mixed Low Level Waste Disposal Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract.
